My first computer, in the early 80s, was a 48k Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

I had the predecessor ZX81. The hours of fun I had programming sine wave curves and playing Orbit.

This video is so trippy, especially the flashback of the noise for the tape loading the game.

Isn't there some saying about an inverse relationship between a restaurant's views and the quality of its dining experience?

I would suggest the other way of looking at it is the higher the rent, the less money spent on recruiting, training and paying staff.

The location means for six months the proprietors will probably get away with a continuous supply of first time customers, but after that I would hope reality sets in. Didn't this happen in the Viaduct?

Every person I know that has partaken in the hospitality offerings of North Wharf has had a terrible experience. Every one.

    +1.

We had lunch there, and ordered an 18" (honest, they had a ruler) Pizza, for $29. The menu said 'Fennel Sausage'. It arrived with one puny sausage diced into even punier pieces, spread across the whole pizza. One bit per slice. There was a whole lot of Pizza real estate with nothing on it.

Compare this with the $12 Peperoni at Tasca in Newmarket on their lunch menu; three times the topping for less than half the price.

They didn't bother cleaning our table after the departing guests or bringing us water either. But that's Ok, being resourceful diners we moved to a clean table with a water bottle on it.

On a plus note, the Gelato place makes a decent espresso.

    ETA: When it's open.

    From CNBC 7 Aug 2011.

    Part 2.

My feeling is we will be talking about him in a different way soon enough, so I'll let others fly the flag for now.

Yeah, I'm not convinced the problem isn't stupid NZers, TBH.

What the ones voting for National, or the ones not voting for Labour?

[Redacted] I just remembered I don't do this anymore.

Having said that, I find the proposed Great Family Silver Sell-off just incredible. How can an idea that bad have got this far?

For the record, I agree. When 51.5% of your own voters favour an opposition policy over your own, it's pretty clear there's a problem.

Given the other polling, most particularly with the 'opposition', as Sacha points out. Goff keeps saying 'If not me, then who?' To which Labour supporters could be forgiven for replying 'If not now, then when?'

An ACT majority? I'll take your money.

So you mean you don't loathe National? I'm getting this all wrong, as usual.

You'll note my wish for Act to disappear. As loose as I can be, I try not to contradict myself in the same post, if possible.

But hey, picked on form. Like Colin Slade. Wait...

ABs not to win the cup, and no clear result at the election. How do you like them apples?

Has this been adequately rebutted? Anyway, here's mine. ABs to win comfortably, and that party which most of you loathe gets a clear majority to govern alone, but does deals with the smaller parties anyway.

    <Right, that'll be me coat>

PS. I don't mind if I'm wrong. Except for the rugby.
PPS. If Act and NZ First could disappear too, that would be good.

Sorry, given my own continuity incontinence, I'm hardly one to talk.

    Give the desk a rest.

They have souls? Thought it was absence of, that caused this in the first place.

Of course they have souls, but they are taught to ignore them in the first year of their BCom.

Since when did the police start making BComs part of their training? If you check, I think that's what I was talking about.

And your other point, what a load of bunk. A study showing all commerce students are indoctrinated with greed is like saying all botanists have beards and can't dance.

    Wait, on second thoughts.
