What then do you use, D?
Erm, Winamp. I sort of have the feeling that people are snickering up their sleeves at me now. :)

Does anyone else find itunes one of the world's more annoying pieces of software?
I just don't even use iTunes at all (unless I have to get an iPhone software update). It takes so long to do anything, and I'm terrified that it will get a bee in its bonnet and 'sync' something I don't want it to and poof, there goes my 160GB of music. I really hate it.

That lecturing shit is hardly ever about 'concern for you' anyway. It's usually a cocktail of some other less altruistic motivations.
(I've never smoked, but I am also 12.)

Dude, you're just not hanging around with the right kind of pro-cycling activitists.
I think my only response to that is 'thank heavens'. If I'm ever in that situation, they might have to put a warning on *me* for 'realistic violence'.

pollution is a major killer and cars are a major cause of pollution
And yet no annoying busybody ever comes up to me and tells me to remove my 'cancer wagon' from the road, as they do to my outside-smoking mother.

Why not demand that every male and female lead in films be shown to be a keen jogger?

He don't go to films 'less he knows they're arty
He likes women's lib and the Values Party
He's a rasta, he's new wave
Don't do nothing 'less he's told exactly how to behaveToy Love, 'Rebel'. Can Judy Darragh make it into a lei and press it on to the shirt? :)
I always liked that bit in the Blams' 'Don't Fight it Marsha...': I want you to be happy but I'd rather you were still with me. Perhaps we can arrange something as well, because I'm really into Don McGlashan's creepy stalker/psycho songs (see also'White Valiant').

anti-intellectualism (expressed in the form of scorn of properly implemented management systems, and the ignoring of business best practices and standards
I have been forced against my will to take graduate-level management classes. They are, in fact, the purest form of anti-intellectual busywork known to humanity. I can't imagine they would have helped particularly.

Again, sorry, if you can use styles and master documents, and your thesis is in the humanities, Word is just brilliant. What's not to like?
I must agree - it may be made by the Great Satan or whatever, but I think it's a really great programme for humanities writing. I tried using OpenOffice for a while and I don't think there's much of a comparison.
ETA:
It requires learning a certain amount of mark-up
I'm an *arts* graduate. You know we're not capable of that. ;)

I'm ready for the turtleneck to make a comeback. Its heyday was what, in the 70s? Usually under a blazer, sweatily. We need to start that up again.
Here, have Cee-Lo's *stonking* new song, for the three of you who haven't heard it yet:
ETA: Uh, NSF people who don't like swearing. Obvs.
