Most gloriously delusional rationalisation so far in the current Kiwiblog thread:
get a grip jarbury - mary wilson was out of her depth.
Awesome.

Ah. Hence the garlic.

Also, in the same issue of Metro our own Damian Christe has a nice little story on "Green" Dean Williams in his new guise as an ethical Cambodian bar owner.
And ... The Listener. Having forced myself to wade through most of the interview with George Friedman, I cannot see why he and his book would have deserved even a single-paragraph review, let alone been stuck on the bloody cover of the magazine this week.Terence O'Brien had it right: Friedman is an irrelevant cold warrior preaching to the choir. His advice for us little New Zealanders was as patronising as his grasp on global economics is slender. It was just embarrassing, both in terms of the rhetoric and the editorial decision to make it a cover story.

All we need now is for Wolf to come back.
I'm not sure if Grant Bowler's career in US television is going to allow for that.

From Redbaiter in KB comments regarding Goff's refusal to appear alongside Slater:
So typical of the totalitarian left. if you oppose socialism, they refuse to admit your existence.
Heh.

And check out the monumental failure of taste in Paul Henry's introduction to his chat about Worth with Guyon Espiner:

I agree. Baseless speculation on a connection with Rankin is not good, and potentially defamatory.
Meanwhile, Goff on Breakfast:

Anyhow, here's the link. Came across as a humourless twerp who can't handle his ideas being challenged, in my humble estimation.
It might be fairer to say he's an engaging lecturer and writer and a terrible interview subject. I thought the interview I did with him was okay, until I saw it. It was really dull.

It seems we can all breath easy. According to Sean Plunkett and his two Dicks - Griffin and Prebble - it is all Phill Goff's fault.
That discussion was a disgrace. An utter disgrace. A Wellington old-boys circle-jerk that should never have got to air in the first place.
Griffin wittered on about what an innocent soul his mate Worth was, Prebble was allowed to get away with characterising the matter Goff took to Key as Worth getting "a bit fresh" with a woman (WTF?) and they all agreed that John Key had handled things splendidly and the real villain of the piece was, er, Phil Goff.
While I think there are some risks in Goff talking to the press now, I think it's very clear that Goff acted in good faith in taking the original allegations to Key.
The most charitable assessment of Plunket's performance is that he may have been hungover.
