Oh, Craig. I just think there are many perspectives out there, and as in many situations, everyone has their own truth. Whether you be PJ, or Warners, or the actors who wanted to shut the thing down, or the actors and crew who really don't see the point in putting on the kaibosh. Mum's opinion is just an opinion, as are all the opinions on these 28 pages. Some people who have commented here have no knowledge of the thing, some have a bit, and some are involved a bit more. Unless any one of us is PJ or Robyn Malcolm or, god forbid, the Whigg man, none of us knows what's going on, really. So in my opinion, it's all just speculation.

I sort of understand how she came to that conclusion. If one were using a conspiracy theorist lens, you could see how the MEAA stirs things up, and PJ takes advantage of it somewhat.

My mother had some interesting thoughts about this yesterday. She opined that perhaps PJ stirred up some stuff so that he could get the Gummint to pay for more of his film.Oh for fecks sake if the guy wants to lobby for an increase in film production tax breaks there are ways to do it besides a cluster-fuck that got The Hobbit global press for all the wrong reasons...
I'm not saying I agree with her, Craig. I just thought it was an interesting and reasonably credible thing for her to say.
I'm personally of the opinion that our AE has been manipulated by the Australian outfit. -
Dexter, what an extraordinary extrapolation. Speechless.

May I just tell you a story, Sally, about my first encounters with the Australian vernacular? I was 16. It was my first time overseas. We had been in Sydney for Xmas, had taken a 2 day bus journey to Melbourne, and were going to Tasmania to meet my father off the Sydney-Hobart yacht race, and to have a family holiday. We got on the plane to get to Hobart and the very friendly air hostess (as they were in those days, hostessy not necesarily friendly) said to my mother "Are you off to Tassie? Where did you spend Chrissy? In Sydney? Did you get any nice pressies? And you're going to Tassie? Did you bring your cossies?" My mother, being somewhat of a linguistically oriented snob, was absolutely mortified. Us kids thought it was fantastic. And I haven't been back since. I have to make do with my lovely, lovely Greek Australian stepson.

Jason Kerrison did bloody good.
I've never been into OpShop but they supported Simply Red last Sunday, and I have to say that they were very good. Jason Kerrison was a great showman, and I have to say that a lot of the 12000 people (that appears to be the VA's seating capacity) there, were thrilled to bits with them. Which was lovely for them, considering that most of the crowd were well over 40 - in chronological age, anyway.

The problem is, Caleb, that Key will get in again because he's Key. So until people wise up to his emptiness, and until Goff has either a personality transplant/grows some balls, I am afraid that National are going to get away with some truly heinous shit.

I watched that video of Simon Whipp. He's a grim man, for sure.

Actually, it's not an issue anymore. I discovered that the Classic series starts on TV2 in the next couple of weeks, and I'd rather watch that.
