On a somewhat unrelated note, has anyone seen the video clip that Russell showed us yet, the "fuck you very much" one? I can't find it on youtube.....
-
I wasn't going to listen to it, dammit. But I did. I distinctly heard " I can't breathe".
-
Geoff - thanks so much for your spare ticket. Although can I be very egotistical and say that when we turned up at the door, and I said my name, she didn't even look, just said "Oh yes, you're on here somewhere". I felt a wee bit special for about two seconds. Anyway, why didn't you come and say hello?
I an not fucking scary! Why does everyone think that?
No, you are not. I wasn't going to out you, but I think I will anyway. You are, quite possibly, one of the sweetest people I have ever met. And, as the actress said to the bishop, I've met a few.

Well, well, well. Thanks Russell for another excuse to look all brainy by association. The Ignite sessions were a fantastic idea - thanks, Nat - and I have to say that my favourite was the neuroscientist. Velly Interesting. I would love to know more. As for the rest, Emma did beautifully on the quiz, Keith was surprisingly ungeeky, really - I had no idea what any of them were talking about, but that's par for the course, with you lot. It was a real pleasure meeting Sacha and Emma, great to see Alastair (sp?) and it's always lovely to see Messrs Slack and Brown. Convivial ain't the word.

It's from a childrens' book, Steve. The Old Oak Tree.
-
Heaven, Steve, have you never heard of the Frebblie? Or the Frossil? Or even the Frabbit?

I have never been more convinced of my own utter uselessness.
If it helps, Danielle, we could make that list of 'things a lady should be able to do', and then gleefully celebrate not being able to do any of them.
Can we do that, please ? Funnily enough, thinking about it over the last almost 20 years of connubial bliss or whatever, I have to say that most traits that are proscribed as "female" my old boy has, and I have the more "male" ones. Par example - multitasking. What is it? And why would anyone want to do it?

Also she was on Close Up tonight. Nice piece.

A statement from a soon to be convicted inmate. "I'm judged by those who can't get out of Jury Duty, these are not my peers"
You may be surprised at the calibre of people who decide to give their time to jury duty. It's not all old people, the retired and the unemployed, y'know.

Twice in the weekend, I drove past Boscaswen supporters jiggling signs up and down at traffic lights. On the first occasion, it was a large and rowdy group of people having a whale of a time. Good for them, I thought. On the second, it was a lonely wee poppet standing on the corner of New North and St Lukes Rd. I felt very sorry for him, and, might I add, Boscawen might need to find himself people who look less like, well, ACT supporters. Not a good look.
