So the most important thing is that he sounds good when interviewed ... sigh.
Folks can we at least not fall into the trap of mistaking presentation for content.
Please by all means abuse him for failing to deliver content or the quality of his content but immediately focussing on presentation simply reinforces the very MSM shallowness that we so often decry in these forums.

Fully expecting a ring road to be built around Mt Albert Research Centre
It's actually nearly complete.
Don't be silly it's one way and far too narrow, some of the corners are too tight for 100 kph turns, pedestrians are still allowed to use the road to access greenhouses and labs, there is no dedicated parking building, resources that could have been spent on improving vehicle access to the site have wasted on failed research project (only successful projects will be funded in the future) ridiculous gates and site security has been installed that merely slow delivery truck access, space has been wasted providing secure covered bicycle parking, ...
We have so much to look forward to ...

I’m grieving somewhat that we didn’t get Chris Finlayson as new Minister of Broadcasting [...] So Broadcasting goes to … Craig Foss
Cry me a river ... we got bloody Steven "we don't need your stinking evidence" Joyce as minister of science and innovation

However, a commercial media will usually be biased by financial imperatives towards stories that interest the greatest possible number of people.
A minor point but I'd argue that isn't true. financial imperatives tend to drive towards stories that offend the fewest number of people. A stories of very strong interest to many people is likely to offend some people. For MSM it is more advantageous to avoid offend than to promote interest.
That is why TV7 is so important because it can afford to promote interesting stories even if they offend some.

Just thought I’d say sorry to Bart or Keith if they found any of the debate unpleasant.
No worries Martin. Not you specifically. I just felt PAS is usually very good about really robust debate of ideas while at the same time keeping the tone inclusive and ... well pleasant. It just seemed odd to me that this topic had stirred people up in a way that I haven't seen very much here.
And I am well aware of how easy it is to write something thinking in one tone of voice and have it read in a completely different tone.
No harm done.

if you want results
Watch Twenty 20. Which is the perfect result mode cricket match.
Test cricket is, as you say, for idling away 5 days in the sunshine with alcohol.

That, and so Is can sleep with them?
I manfully resisted that line, mostly because I really don't know Is at all. But I'm glad someone used an utterly perfect setup.
