babydaddy... it's not really part of the lexicon
I'm sorry John, but who is the self-styled Jerry Springer Show expert here? 'Babydaddy' is *so* part of the lexicon. :)
-
Wouldn't 'Bristol Palin's babydaddy' roll off the tongue a little more easily? I think they should go with that.

a guy who has just re-written the whole goddam rulebook with his VP pick
Yes, that 'actually knowing the person beforehand' rulebook, and the 'checking out their background' rulebook, and the 'not choosing someone who's solely a pandering token' rulebook... he certainly is amazing, all right.
I can imagine Obama bombing Iran cos the polls tell him he needs to be seen to be strong and I can imagine McCain doing a Sharon and negotiating a genuine peace with Iran.
Yeah, I can imagine a lot of things when I'm on acid too. It's a hell of a drug.

I'm sure she's a very nice person
I'm dubious. What kind of power-mad wackaloon asks a librarian to sign a loyalty oath?
-
McCain's took ages to be released.
They did, however, contain this immortal sentence:
'His buttocks are unremarkable except for some very light tan freckling.'
I'm going to say the wait was worth it.

from Evelyn Waugh to Ferris Bueller
The former: Craig
The latter: meI'm not sure what that says about our respective personalities... or perhaps I *am* sure, and I don't want to admit it to myself. ;)
(Giovanni is made of win for the Poe ref yesterday, though.)
I find that our household is generally All References, All the Time. At some point, we might have to have an actual conversation about something, and I predict that we're eventually going to lose our ability to string sentences together in any meaningful way. Generation X, this is thy legacy.

It wasn't Summat, was it? As in "So what'll I put on the birth certificate then, chook?" "Oof, just write summat and we'll fix it later..."
Heh. I wish it was as Coronation-Street-esque as that! No, Summit, as in 'mountaintop'. It beats me. Coincidentally, said mother-in-law's progeny were also born in Alaska. Perhaps Bristol is a fairly common name up there?
-
Andrew: Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig.
My mother-in-law named two of her children Bristol and, erm, Summit. That's a total WTF too.

You know in your heart when someone is supportive of you.
Oh FFS. Vice-President 'I Know In My Heart' Palin. That's *all* we need.

So yeah, I'm picking that it gets a little more Jerry Springer yet.
As a longtime fan and viewer of the Jerry Springer Show, I've got to say that I think this saga is a lot more 'class-ay'. It really has more of a Montel Williams or, at a pinch, Maury Povich (who specialises in paternity tests) vibe to me. :)
