Hmmm, must be Christmas, time to dump the bad news, it’d seem.

See also: the release of a nine-month-old report into what a complete clusterfuck Steven Joyce's "super ministry" is.

Suggests the council might get involved to save his ass.

    That really was outrageous.

I wonder why, if her brain injury is the result of falling into a swimming pool…this young lass isn’t covered by ACC?

Indeed. My former neighbour got a ramp for his Housing NZ duplex funded by ACC, so after he died the flat was wheelchair-ready for the next tenant.

    Damn good times.

That sounds brilliant. It was a shame to have missed it, but I was a bit Golden Dawned-out from the night before -- and I was DJing at a party, which turned out to be a whole bundle of fun.

iTunes – “a hideous binary turd that transforms the sparkling world of music and entertainment into a stark, unintuitive spreadsheet.”

I admit, Apple's weird design choices in iTunes get frustrating -- they broke search pretty badly. So I'm giving Swinsian a go. It does support AirPlay, but I can't find any way of controlling it with a remote app on my phone, which is a bit of dealbreaker.

  • Hard News: Friday Music: So much music I…, in reply to Mike O'Connell,

While checking out (yet again) Russell’s fav ‘Christmas shopping tune’, I happened upon an upload from earlier this year, a segment of an excellently recorded live show by Saints’ contemporaries, Radio Birdman.(live at the Marryatville Hotel, I think in Adelaide). Closing track is a cover of Stooges’ Search & Destroy.

Nice! And it also reminded me that the Androidss used to do a cracking cover of 'Search and Destroy'.

Meanwhile, this will always be my favourite Birdman song ...

I’m not sure there is any digital music service whose interface and workings isn’t at odds with how any music lover would want – coders just hate music I reckon… worse as services ‘improve’ the interfaces generally get worse (spotify’s sure has)

Were you an eMusic customer when they did their utterly insane "upgrade"? Seriously the worst thing ever. It was like alpha code they'd forgotten to test. It pretty much killed them too.

    it’s still better than iTunes…

Well, than the iTunes Stoe. I’m happy enough with iTunes for managing my music, even if it could be a lot better. I have Apple ecosystem gizmos and that part works well – unless a software update turns the dread iTunes Match on again. What a basically decent idea executed eye-wateringly badly that shit is.
