It's very hard to see it as anything else. WTF?

It’s quite hard to see it, full stop!
Player doesn’t work (and even the photo doesn’t load) on 3 of the 4 browsers able to run on my ancient MacOS. (The one exception is Chrome.)
Admittedly, relying on software 10 years out of date probably marks me as not being in the target audience… -
It's basically a portal to Access Granted.
I tried listening to the podcast, but it was recorded in a noisy bar and far too unstructured for me. A pity because I like the subject area.

Hi Moz,
Mike here - one of the Access Granted peeps. No this isn't sponsored content (we do it for the love and off the smell of an oily rag).
We've been collecting "tech" (for want of a better word) stories and sharing them for a number of years and Russell has kindly allowed us to share them here as well.

Hi Alfie,
Sorry that's how it comes across - we try and share the people's stories especially focusing on the "WHY do they do what they do?", and "HOW do they do what they do?".
Of course companies, products and services are mentioned but it's never intended to be the reason for the episodes. Sometimes we aren't as clever at filtering it out as we are with others.

Now that totally sucks - let us do some digging around and find out why that is the case. Sorry to hear it

Hi Mikaere,
It's true we link back to the Access Granted site, we've taken thre view that no-one wants to see all our jibber jabber on Public Address (we can be quite busy and verbose sometimes) and so we're only cross-posting the actual episodes.
In essence, the people's stories are our focus and not the website and we don't expect others to ever go to our site.
You're not alone talking about the "noisy bar" and how it gets in the way of listening. We walk a thin line between "having a chat" and "being BBC quality" - it's never our intention to become the latter but we are working towards upping our game - costs money and it's tough when it's a project of love and passion.
Unstructured ... yip, it's a chat not an "interview".
BUT, happy to take guidance on how we could improve ... -
Not happy with this ad.

Hi Kevin,
Mike here - one of the Access Granted peeps. This isn't meant to be an ad content.
Could you let us know how you see it as an ad xoz we'll have to change to ensure its not perceived as one. Was, perhals, the photo on the front page - tbh, I'm not sure how I put that in and will not being it again (once I find out what I did)

Moz,
how you see it as an ad
It doesn't fit with the rest of PA, it's actually jarringly different. It's all about a single person/company, and it's clearly written by a not-very-good marketing person. At best they normally write for a very different audience and they have done no research to see what PA is like so they've badly misread their audience (viz, they're not very good). The lack of a byline is very unusual here, but from the reception so far I think the author's decision to hide their identity was the right one.
Which is why the few who've responded have all assumed that Russell is being paid for publishing this. It's the most charitable explanation.

Probably because it is actually written for a different audience and just copied over here, and the original brief is to cheerlead for new initiatives rather than offer critical in-depth assessment. Kind of like a tech Country Calendar. Fair enough, it doesn’t pretend to be anything else.
As to improvements: two obvious ones would be (i) sound quality needs to at least allow speech to be heard; and (ii) use post editing to add narrative structure and frame the chat segments (as per Country Calendar voiceover).
