  • Chris Bell,

'Bill and Ben' was my favourite on 'Watch With Mother'... But, really, you guessed it, "I'm just testing my Gravatar".

I have the feeling I'm missing some vital step - I've set up the image, linked it to my email address and activated it... but nothing. When you've succeeded, does it show up in 'Preview' mode?

And doesn't palm oil just make your hand slip? I expect someone has already cracked that one...

At least the invisible Gravatar isn't dangerous to your health.

"I expect someone has already cracked that one..."

Not that I'm aware... but I've been patiently waiting for the first person to succumb to temptation.

    And your gravatars are here!.

The Laphroaig is on me, Mr Tibby. Mine was R18, too, for some strange reason. Thanks for the tip, let's try that...

"This sexist comment has exhausted the very last of my goodwill towards "Robin Draper".

I've been following the interestin repartee with the palm oil guy. Aw, c'mon Robyn & Tibby! What's so offensive or sexist about not "scrunching your panties'? My female Prof. used to use that expression! It only means "don't get excited." Anyways,language- wise I find the phrase definitely more civil and less abusive than "fucken surf"!

What does removing Robin achieve? It's a common trait of people who are good at giving stick. The moment they're on the receiving end, their bravado suddenly disappears! C'mon Russell Brown. Surely you're bigger than that! After all this is a blog, not a big-brother controlled media! Put Robin back on.

Tosh. I thought we were all quite tolerant of someone who is basically a spammer, for quite a long time. I've been given stick by professionals - that wasn't the issue - but he outstayed his welcome when he was rude to Robyn.

People enjoy the fact that these forums don't descend to abuse and name-calling, and I reserve the right to step in as I see fit. With Mr Draper, that wasn't the issue so much as that we were always eventually going to get tired of him hawking palm oil.

  • Doris Parker,

Beats me how you can say that he was rude. I thought that he was just cajoling Robyn. In fact, I find his posts, albeit initialy backs palm oil was quite entertaining on other issues! Far from descending to abuse and namecalling!

I never recall PA System being declared a democracy. If the moderator gives the thumbs down, its bye bye time.

Fair enough. But, like I said, my patience was always going to wear thin.

Only twice ever, actually: Robin and the ever-lovin' ross (who, I should add, is very probably not the same person as ron, who I think is actually Ron Law).

But yes, I reserve the right to step in on aesthetic grounds as much as those of conduct. Boring is boring.

  • Riddley Walker,

God i get sick of people whining about 'democracy' when they don't get what they want.

Democracy is an electoral and governance mechanism folks - plain and simple. None of the organs that service a democracy are 'democratic', not the courts, not the media, not the police, not the military, not political parties, not hospitals or schools or the businesses that may exist within them. And thank jebus for that.

  • Richard Llewellyn,

Gotta admit, I found Robin kind of entertaining, while he was shamelessly hawking his wares (been guilty of that meself) at least he didn't take himself too seriously.

Unlike Ron/Ross who tirelessly beat a losing argument to death with absolutely no style or entertainment value.

Maybe RB should be able to hold tribal councils.

  • Che Tibby,

heh. maybe we have a godwin's law for 'pantie scrunching'.

    but, in other news

None of the organs that service a democracy are 'democratic'

democracy is just a way to decide who gets to boss you around and squander your taxes.

    i vote me.
