we seem to be stretching the ‘Street Art’ theme somewhat

    Morningside close ups.

    Don’t know what you mean.

Well, funnily enough I wasn’t referring to your rubble or container banks, as it happens. ;-)

    Papamoa!

More tagging than art, but the chairs make it special...

More St Kevin’s. I'm trying to remember, or find out, all the names of the artists. But I guess that's part of the street art thang. Who is it?

    Papamoa!

Sweet. Was it you that had the Heath Ledger Joker one? That was scary good.

Demolitions in Chch have revealed all sorts of things on walls. Some, like this one, are bare but still visually complex.

The St Kevin's Arcade ones are a Cut Collective/Misery project. The two in the first post are both Component pieces. The other 3 are by Misery, Component, and Enforce 1, respectively.

One of my favourites, now gone of course, is another of Askew One's pieces.

Thanks Nat. I knew about the Cut Collective connection, but couldn't identify who did what.

What I enjoyed most in Melbourne was the variety of styles. This piece was directly opposite the top one, totally different style, but still excellently executed.

  • Jackie Clark,

Good god. You've inspired me to try and capture some of the fine art from around Mangere and surrounds. I'm so used to all the graffiti and street art around the streets of my weekday home suburb that I don't know that I even see it anymore. Monday, I'll be on it!

    Even more Morningside.

    Monday, I’ll be on it!

    Great.

I’m going on the hunt for more hidden treasures too. There does seem to have been a greying out of much of the inner city.

    I like this.

You should take the girls down there (to Waikowhai). It's an offleash dog park but it's pretty quiet in the late afternoon, and there's some primo exploring to be done.
