Save it to my desktop and turn it upside down and it becomes blindingly clear. Look at it upside down again and I’m struggling :) Great photo.
Yes, it's a clever optical illusion. The fact that the waterline is indistinct and not straight made it hard to spot what was going on. I couldn't even see the scum in the water by the sticks that are poking out, but invert the picture and it's really obvious. One doesn't expect to find scum in the clouds.

Jos,
Wow Nora are you actually there? Beautiful spot.

Only in my imagination right now : ( It's the end point for pilgrims doing the walk from France accross the top of Spain. We did it by train instead, an arduous 12 hours cutting back to the interior, away from the coast, through mining towns and witchy looking country.

Jos,

They're great, I don't need to go to NY now!

Jos,
You would go blind from the overdose of stuff to photograph.

Thanks Leigh, yes this is the Excelsior. I did mine on my walk to work - alas it is a bit dark in the mornings now for that fabbo morning light!

Yearning for summer? Check these retro beach photos, looks like people had a good time back then

Nope.
But Yahoo! actually did something useful and gave me a link to this. His photos from the cockpit are incredible.

Flashy sterile boringness I thought.
But strangely evoked these non-sterile patterns of 'lights' against the dark - half-composted feijoa leaves and related debris under the feijoa tree, erratically rummaged by black chook and lesser blackbirds, after a rather warm day and night. Quick hand-held grabs early yesterday morning in blue-sky shade. -

It's in the works, as we speak. Got any you want to throw in the mix for the opening post? I've already linked to your one above. ;-)
