  • JacksonP, in reply to Jackie Clark,

    That's my Dad

I think the vast majority of us worked that out Jackie. What I wanted to know is, what's Richard Driver's hair doing on the guy in front's head. Or is that Richard himself?

  • Jackie Clark, in reply to JacksonP,

Dick Driver and my Dad? No, I don't think so somehow. After Dad died, my sister sorted all mum and dad's photos into boxes - yachting, motor racing etc - and I found this one, and scanned it. I just loved the twinkle in his eye. I miss that alot, and it was one of the best things about him.

It is those little irreproducables* eh?

I just want my younger sister Mary Emma's quietly terse comments (I didnt realise until after she died, she collected dictionaries too).

I really want to hear the voices of my olds (I only have them in my head.)

*I am not sure that is a word-

That grader looks like it's pushing sand uphill. Seems an appropriate analogy for the day.

We didn't make it in the end. Something about the heat, parking, crowds, general slackness, made me chicken out.

I'm a bit late to the game, but I just want to point and cheer at the Yashica Mat in the header. I have a soft spot for twin lens cameras.

    re the pink dinosaur

reminds me of the one that used to be outside Floyds (Community Creative artspace) in Durham Street in Chchch, until they shifted to the old Wards Brewery site (latterly Crighton Cobbers and Mr Pickwick's) in Fitzgerald Ave (see above) - which is now all largely levelled along with Project Legit's workshop studio, though I note John's Bone Carving Studio has moved to Hills Road (I think)...
