My sis took this shot many years ago at Western Springs. I found it t'other day. When "One Love" came out it was quite nice to see her in the film footage.
Far fuckin' out.

Yeah, what he said. That is one frickin' iconic shot. Who has the negative?

My sister but she does have thousands of negs. She has been taking photos for the last 35 years. They filmed her with her camera up front of the stage at the concert and I know she has photos of Peter Tosh as well. She is in a few shots in the film too. I'll ask her if she will find them. I scanned it the other day but did a crappy job so will check it out.

Sounds like a possible goldmine. We could like, you know, help liberate them if she wants. ;-)

Just been on the phone. She said she was going to do some work on them because contrast was bad.Soo many friends think it's iconic too but she says of course it is because a) it's Bob and b) it was just prior to his death and the flag in background says it all. She was right underneath him. She has 36 shots of Bob, Peter Tosh, the I Threes and others. She thinks it would take a wee while to find but stated that she is keeping her negatives thanks anyway.

Oh, I would never expect anyone to give up their negatives. Just wondering if she would be willing to share the images here? We would love to have a guest post of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh etc. We could do a 'One Love' post on Waitangi day, maybe, that being Bob's birthday an' all.
Anyway, it's just so exciting to see these hidden treasures come out. Thanks for that, and excuse my enthusiasm.

It's possible. I may have prompted her a bit because she started reeling off other ones too. Like really old George Benson. She did concerts a bit . She did that old shot of me and said she got some pretty fun stuff from my Sydney days and punk bands around Auckland. I think I would have to rummage in her closet for images and she might let me. I'm pushing time a bit though so we'll see.

Wow, Sofie! I'd buy that. My shout, next opportunity. 6pm?

Sofie Bribiesca, in reply to
6pm yes We will have to ask the other half. He did that one. :)
As an aside Sis is thinking about it for Waitangi day. ;) She is over Dad's chihuahua going missing yesterday, Dad popping out to look for him, woman running into Dad, knocking him out, hospital, stitches and dog ending up at vet for the night only to be found this morning and back home as if nothing had happened. So thought I wouldn't push her today.

Fanks, I did, I also wanted to say how stoked I am that your sister is well and how much I'm loving your and your partner's work. All the other works are mighty fine too. Oh and i hope your Dad is OK, I met him once, a really really cool guy, and had one of his rings given to me. Also met your brother, I'm a sort of Bribiesca family fan from afar, weird.

Yep as bossy as ever. She is actually helping Dad make the jewellery at the mo. Gets busy around Xmas and he is 76 now and seems to be getting injured a bit :)
I think she is a Teacher next year. Should ask really.Brother?? which one? One lives in Florida now, one lives in Seattle. I guess we haven't changed much.

Crikey, hope your dad's Ok. What a crazy turn of events.

merc,
My bossy sister turns 50 this year, so I got to go to Dunedin. Your sister will make a brilliant teacher I reckon. Brother, Jose, last saw your sister and him I think at a concert on top of Mt Hobson...your sister would wear that hat you know.

He is better today. His dog coming home made a huge difference. He's getting on and is just coming to terms with that although his family all lived past 100 so far, so 76 is still young in his eyes. :)
