Dammit, I've had a really intermittent connection to Public Address these last few days. Hopefully this time it works properly. Nope, try again. Attempt #3. Attempt #4.

Looking at your avatar, that sounds like lunch!
I'm amazed that you can post here at all, I gather you are in the middle of nowhere in deepest darkest China....

Southeastern corner of downtown Beijing most of the time, with regular trips out to the inlaws in the mountains in Beijing's outer northwest, so not quite deepest, darkest, or even most polluted, but not far off. No offence to Russell, but one needs to be huge and influential to attract the censors' attention. Either that or collateral damage, innocently sharing a server with something unharmonious. Weird thing is I have easy access to PAS on my cellphone over China Mobile, but intermittent access on my laptop through the university network.

i never realised they were pale green, always thought they were the white in the photo but if so what are those green aliens? Learn something new every day

Success!!! And I still can't figure out why its antennae and legs look like they're printed into the concrete, almost as if I captured a slater shell placed very precisely over a slater fossil.

Sofie Bribiesca, in reply to
Did the slater move or was it stuck in there .As you say that is uncanny if it isn't set in the concrete
-
Chris Waugh, in reply to
It was moving, it just came out that fossil-wearing-a-shell way in the photo.

have squashed enough of the little buggers to know how green they are! but there are white things under the leaves of my brocolli, not sure what buggers they are. but when the ladybirds or their funny-looking larvae have eaten the juicy goodness from the aphid body they leave the whispy white shell of aphid, like you can see in Chris's picture on the leaf edge. Nature eh? So complicated and so full of really small creatures : )

lousey vampires!
its antennae and legs look like they’re printed into the concrete
I imagine that at that scale, the distance between them and the concrete would be negligible and so they are forced into the same focal plane...
...but who knew they didn't cast shadows!
