Cheers Geoff.
Hope you don't mind, but have moved my reply to the Howling at the Moon Thread for continuity.

Howling at the Moon Thread.
I woke up in the tower
And there the moon, molten silver in a great cauldron,
Was being poured
Through the eye of a needle
Spun onto bobbins and sold to poets
For sewing their eyelids together
So they can sing better.Ted Hughes, from Visiting the Moon

These words are worth a thousand pictures : )

I blame the moon. ;-)
:-D
BTW Ted Hughes' collection from which this comes, Moon Whales, is IMO one of his very best. It's supposedly for children, which I think is just an excuse to be whimsical and hilarious. It's out of print but can be obtained from libraries or secondhand.

Jos,
I love where these threads go, leave one alone for a couple of days and then next peek there are 5 pages!
All fluff, but Wonderful none the less.

The Moon is the cauldron
and poets’ brains the fuel- eyes
are not needed when
words are the tool-
sing and shriek and sigh and whimper
groan and howl and whisper
-know, someone, somewhere, listens
-to you- -

Capture - where it's all happening!!

Here's one for the nature-stalkers - what happens when the wildlife does not want its photo taken!
A bear-raising story. :-)

Orpheus - by David Sylvian. Seemed apposite.
...Sleepers sleep as we row the boat
Just you, the weather, and I gave up hope
But all of the hurdles that fell in our laps
Were fuel for the fire and straw for our backs
Still the voices have stories to tell
Of the power struggles in heaven and hell
But we feel secure against such mighty dreams
As Orpheus sings of the promise tomorrow may bring
Tell me, I've still a lot to learn
Understand, these fires never stop
Please believe, when this joke is tired of laughing
I will hear the promise of my Orpheus sing -

Mesmerising photos Alex, have you used a filter on the camera to keep the sky from blowing out?
-
Alex Efimoff, in reply to
I use exposure fusion technique, no filters in that particular case.
