Well caught - so that's how the moon gets across the road : )

Neat travelogue, Sof! And a nice anti-crepuscular ray with your moon.
All at 100km/ph :)
Assuming you weren't driving :-)

amazing hoar frost
Brrrrr! Beautiful, but. :-)

I’ve posted this and a selection of companions photos in my blog article:
Wintry walks and icy spectacles
Note the sand underfoot. The ice was from a lagoon which has formed where a creek drains onto the beach. -

The ice
It's good you took these photos, it really communicates what your winter's been like. And that sheet of ice is unbelievable!

we even got snow!
These are from our snowy days last month. I’m hoping we don’t get too many more!
I remember the sound of the cars on the road in the early morning when the snow was iced over. They made a scraping, ringing sound, like the sound you make dragging a spade over a hard surface. In fact when I first woke up I thought somebody was doing just that....

Wondering if you'd post those. Thanks.
We got there in the end I guess. ;-)

Lovely snow trails - you weren't up a pylon were you? : )

Lord no! :-) Just a hill.
I like the evidence of push-starting in the bottom left. :-)

Great ice slabs and hoar frost. I can't help it, it looks like confectionery - crystallised fern and great slabs of clear toffee : )

Sofie, those are lovely manuka trees, or are they kanuka?
Hey Manuka, Kanuka, we have so many , Its all over the place for the wee bees to enjoy. (much honey made up here from our friends, yes I have the mask, I know , I know, I look 21 again. ;))
Leigh, I am not sure which is which, just that we have plenty of both, they are in flower at the mo though.
I should add, we are losing a few to old age but that means much firewood for the future cosy lounge. -
Lilith, they are great. The best snow for this Mexican is in the Capture thread so share all you like.
Leigh, That sheet of ice , and the Lagoon, very cool, literally. :)

Hi Nora, yes, they remind me of crystallized food too! That and jewellery! Amazing that it's all 'just' water!
