I imagine that you were driving along looking up and going wow wow and then finding somewhere to pull over and get a decent foreground
Actually I was on my scooter, but yeah, pretty much that. I was intending to go out again and sit the camera on a tripod for the hour around sunset, but other things happened. And likely the moment would have passed.
Taken a while back coz the rain just keeps on falling here.
Lovely. Those clouds look 3D, which I guess in reality, they are.
Have you been affected by the flooding at all? Reports here show dramatic scenes in Queensland and Northern NSW. Hope all Ok.

It was spectacular and obviously performed for you :)
I used the special Hop Rocker filter. Isn't there an App for that?

Those trees look amazing, and the lines of rain kind of look like paint strokes.

Yeah, I somewhat innocently posted the photo to Weather Watch for their cloud series. Nek minnit...
I love several of the other shots there too. This one for example.

To be fair, they did mention the possibility in the Weather Watch site. I'm hardly complaining, it's just I didn't expect it.

Just so long as they don't claim copyright for it....

Any colouration for the wee birds? Welcome swallows would be my first bet-
And- waua! That is one excellent photo of- erm- interaction between rosella & mynah!

Cant see any colouration that says 'swallow' and normally they're not all that interested in anything but insects & other swallows - ornithologists out there?
A lot of native birds hate mynahs (which were introduced last century & may have contributed to the extinction of the huia-)

F*ck – that’s a tomtit! They’re territorial but tiny…except the colouring is wrong.
It’s a southern colouration (we call them ngirungiru -North calls them miromiro) – but WTF is one doing that far north? And our's dont have that pale neck...)
Duty ornithologist - come in please! -
