    Huhu

aaah - perhaps it's even a huhuhe - formerly known as Yani Johanson but renamed in a swift Brownleean motion...

We found a leg of a weta in the outdoor shower. The leg was a good 10 inches long. We observed a) the rest of the bod was missing and b) something bigger must have eaten it. Much like Johanson huh? {; )

    Nice.
Hasn't grown wings yet, but I'd vote for What Katy Did.
They're responsible for that sleepy chirk-chirk sound around sunset.

Cant find the hole at elbow for ears though and why is she turning brown on her back. A rear view...

Sorry I only do katydids. They were common where I grew up, and according to my mother they were called green friends. I believe that was her way of discouraging us kids from killing them. Eventually I realised that I'd been deceived, so I asserted my independence by finding out their 'proper' name.

I am sure you are right. I will take a keener interest next visit. plus it is now completely obvious that it is not a Praying Mantis. Thanks for the enlightenment.
