Fallen gordonia flowers.
Stars on the grass. How very beautiful.
Thank you! I thought they were amazing, but my Aucks cousin walking with me was unimpressed. I gather she's seen them before. :-D

So, it’s that tree in Albert Park again. Looking back to 2013, and the Pinhole Camera Workshop, here is that tree in some other guises. Followed by ChrisW’s comment about having seen the tree felled, and how it had fully regrown from the stump.

Not sure if this is the same tree, but definitely the same park and species. Looks like it would have been fun to get up close to the canopy. BTW these Australian banyans were presumed to be sterile in NZ, as they require a particular micro wasp to pollinate them. Then back in the 90s the wasp showed up in NZ. So the odds are that they're out there somewhere in the bush now, in their juvenile strangler phase. The pic at the top is the giant at Pahi, on the northern Kaipara, from late 2012.

Thanks Joe. I'm really grateful that people have joined in. I know the family will appreciate it too. Has reminded me why I started this little whare in the first place. :-)
