D A is an excellent photographer and that cat is one cute little critter. Good to know there are people like him and his family in our city. Gives one a good fuzzy feeling. ( No sarcasm intended.)

  • Hebe,

Lyttel Piko is turning into a shareholder co-op as a result of Piko’s rearrangement after the earthquake. It’s a good thing in many ways for wider Christchurch. Here is the Stuff story link.

Today outside the newly opened The Press building Michael Coleman , Brent Cairns and Olly Olson to mention a few aggrieved Cantabrians were snubbed by the people who are supposed to represent them. One important part of a representative is dialogue. Unfortunately the very thing is denied either via correspondence or on a personal level. Mister Brownlee what are you thinking?

Reverent Michael Coleman is not unknown to Mister Brownlee however that makes no difference as we witnessed today. He just walked past anyone who wanted a word with him heading for a waiting people-mover.

  • Joe Wylie,

Does anyone know why the CERA event depicted above was held at the Press's newly revamped building? Or why the Press, which was as pleased as hell to host Sutton's earlier stage-managed questionfest, referred to the location of Thursday's event simply as "the launch venue"?

I know we live in strange times, but am I the only one to find this a touch weird? I'm guessing that the Press rents the venue for these kind of occasions, but the lack of transparency kind of rankles.

Something for a local Leveson Inquiry perhaps?

Nice to see you taking it to the man on this Press comments page...

...and there are some great photos at Gudrun's blog too.

The Law Commission's media industry paper has gone some way towards it.

Mr Lynch has also approvingly linked to the likes of Ann Coulter when it's taken his fancy.

BTW if you look closely at that Gudrun shot of the uncomfortable Roger Sutton peering from the people mover, you can spot former After School host Ollie Olsen, who'd shown up in the vain hope of gaining an audience to advocate for the quake-munted citizens of East Chchch. Seriously Roger, that's only one notch down from snubbing Santa Claus.

Ah what the hell. Seriously, I reckon the main reason Brownlee comes out with this stuff is because it pisses off people he doesn't like.

Either that or maybe he is covering up a major
peat mining operation in the redzone....

    Excellent collage by the way.

Steady snow falling, and settling, in Shirley this morning,
Venus is gonna have to put chains on the Transit,
and even then we won't have a chance of seeing it..
...now where will I be in a hundred years?

    Ian, you're stellar. :-D

I'm looking up the Sumner valley and it's like being inside a snow globe, the snow's falling so thickly. The hills are sugared and the pine trees fit for any cliched Christmas card.
