Lilith, I should have stopped as I passed the bulls and piano most days they were in town, but your photographs make up some for that. I keep going back to them.
I wish the council had done something inspiring and bought the sculptures for the city. -

Yes they certainly were captivating to a wide range of people. If ever a city needed more public art, it’s Chch, now.

Just been down to the Heathcote by ours to check high tide. The water is still an evil murk with treacherous currents, but the good news is it's not over the edge today. The banks around here are well scoured out.

Just for a change something pleasant to share. A testimony of intelligent application and perseverance and the love of family and friends has seen Eunice Brenda being placed into the water on Karaka Beach yesterday morning with choreographed precision. A clear albeit chilly morning did not deter friends and extended family to share this event in the Lowen household.
Richard Lowen started his dream of building this boat as far back as 1975 when he purchased a motor and the rest was a continuation of planning and tweaking until an outstanding piece of engineering joined our landscape yesterday 23 of August, 2012.

In the the past few weeks Richard Lowen worked with amazing energy to see his creation come to fruition.

The work continued without loud words or frantic behavior even tough they were getting short on time to fit in all those last minute tasks

Marine wood and stainless steel will see this craft performing in all kinds of weather.

One can only marvel how well this was all planned. With the crane in place Eunice Brenda is getting ready for a big trip.

Many of us agreed it did us good to see trucks and cranes used in such an elegant way for a change.

Jointly they got the 11m vessel exactly where they wanted it.
