I made a new 'lens' by beating a thin sheet of copper extra thin and then piercing it with my finest needle, then I burnt a cork over a candle this morning to make the inside of the lens cap really matt black. Seems to work pretty well

Not sure what happened there, but deleted last one, as seemed the words at least repeated. Tifs won’t post, unfortunately.
We talked about using copper shim yesterday, and I learnt a valuable lesson about reflection from inside the lens cap. So obvious when you think about it.
Those shots are getting to the ‘amazing’ stage. What’s the exposure time like? Perhaps you should start a side line in Pinhole lens manufacturing? ;-)

Great stuff you two. My efforts are so bad they are not worth posting. Obviously I am lacking fundamental skills in creating a pinhole... which is ludicrous and frustrating. Have tried thin aluminium, electrical foil and various other things around here, but can't get past the excessive blurriness. Might try to find the copper shim. Would like to create one decent shot, to justify the shiny new hole in the body cap.
All takes me back to my days at ATL browsing through those early photographs.

A beer can seems to work well, with the tip of the pin just poking through. Maybe also look at the width of the hole around the pinhole, as if the light hits any ridges – you probably knew that already.
I still can’t get anything like Jos though on digital.

I used the finest needle I could find in my wife's stash and then only just pricked the tiniest end through, then finely sanded off the small bump on the reverse that the needle had made. Making the inside of the copper and the shiny plastic of the body cap matt black helped with light reflection bouncing to and fro the camera's sensor and the body cap. Then I used the clarity slider and some sharpening in Photoshop.

Workshop Update:Have updated the post with the new venue details. Minnie Street Studio.
Artstation kind of stuffed up their bookings, to put it mildly, but they do try hard, and do other good things, so we'll let them off this time.
Also I'm being interviewed on 95bFM tomorrow morning during breakfast about Capture and the Pinhole Workshop. That should be... terrifying.

Cheers everyone. Was a funny thing, and a real nostalgia moment being back in the B Studio after 20 mumble years.
It worked though. As a result of the show the workshop is now pretty much full, with only a couple of places left.

They somehow are making use of window-box planters lined with a plastic sheet. They must roll up the paper into the bath??

remember pre-pasted wallpaper, same system probably….
- but light tight or in a darkroom – maybe a pull-through-two-trough
system so you can get even development immersion at all points …
