  • Geoff Lealand,

Let me know when I can book my television students in for the audience. They are all keen to come but I don't think I will able to transport the whole 59 of them.

  • Luke Williamson,

Congrats Russel. You deserve a good and settled home.
If you're doing Olympic coverage, can we start now? I'm just about tearing my hair out (what little there is) over the poor quality and disingenuous attitude from all but a few of our interviewers at the Olympics. The standard line appears to be, 'So you didn't win - what went wrong out there?' Epitomised by the women's pair in rowing who WON A BRONZE, and the first thing the interviewer said was, 'Gosh, pipped at the line by the Aussies eh?'. They all need a good punch in the face straight after their first stupid and small-minded question. Have we sent all the trainee TV journos up there for experience or something?
And just because I don't like to be all negative, the chap on the Prime highlights programme with beard and glasses is great fun.
I guess it serves me right for not splashing out on full Sky package for the Olympics.

  • Hilary Stace,

Find an excuse to get that nice young journalist Alex Tarrant on. He has been doing some good interviews on the Nation lately. He and John Hartevelt also took on John Key with a complete lack of the obsequiousness that some of the older journalists have around the PM.

Of course, we need new political journalists, politics gets bigger every year in this fair land. We need to have political reporting in line with reality and not ideology. It's hard not to notice Paul Krugman destroying T.V opponents, the bar is being raised, in this country, by Brownie, you're doinng a great job Brownie. No other blogger commands more respect.

Don't forget Guyon Espiner deconstructing Prostetnic Vogon Joyce on 60 Minutes over the SkyCity wheeler-deal.

As for the older folk, Gary McCormick held the PM to account about the closure of TVNZ7. On breakfast radio.

  • Ian Dalziel,

Perhaps Media 3 needs a wee slot for the headline of the week - The Press had a very honest headline this morning: "National creeps up in popularity" - sums it up completely for me!

    M3

I'm sure this is really a reference to the star qualities brought to the table (or tablet for many) and an indication of the constant elation the show's survival brings to watchers...
