... Bodega Bay (where The Birds was shot)
And where my most magnificent 40th birthday party was held over four fabulous days.
Don't forget to detour inland and drink some wine.

BART is great. You fly into SF, get on BART, and the next thing you know you've been met at the appropriate Berkeley station (well maybe you changed trains along the way) and you're eating at Fat Apples.

@dc-red - thank you for the LINZ report summary.
I must admit to being confused by the term "General land". I wonder how much of the almost 70% of Crown/Council land is leasehold? Which can effectively mean 'private' as a leaseholder may exclude the public.

I've done some googling to try and find an answer to how much of NZ coastline is privately owned. LINZ did a report for the gummint back in 2003, but it would take a bit more patience than I have to do the sums.
The Green Party Foreshore and Seabed FAQ of 2004 saysThe Government estimates that approximately 30% of land adjacent to the foreshore is privately owned.
Of course that might not include land owned by the crown, or a local council and under lease to a private individual or company.

I need* a close-up of the boots, they look like my kind of boots.

I've pretty much conquered my fear of needles.
Sticking needles into oneself and having twice daily blood tests for two weeks did it. Thank goodness I have veins that even the most incompetent vampire nurse can get blood out of. Admittedly after two weeks of a double daily hammering my veins were getting a wee bit tough.
The nicest clinics have fun posters on the walls that one can focus on while the bottles are being changed. -
A long time ago I made myself a wonderful grey blue vinyl coat (a bit like these only not double breasted).
Recently it was rescued from the back of the closet and woe it had gone all sticky.
It is a great pattern if you ignore the shoulder pads, but I see they are making comeback along with MC Hammer pants.
My decision has been to de-coat my wardrobe and start again.
I fancy wine red brocade. I'll start with the curtain fabric shops. -
I'm heading home to Hampden tomorrow, otherwise I'd be at the pub like a shot. (But not tequila, no, never again)

I've had this theory for a few years now that Michael and La Toya are really the same person. (Admitedly La Toya seems to have a better chin these days than poor Micheal did in the more recent womens' mag pictures on our staff room table.) You never see them together (well I don't) and she seems to be the one sibling that looks like him. Which is odd seeing as no-one looks like him.
So, will La Toya mysteriously die too, or will 'La Toya' get custody?

I'm going to act naive here.
I thought that in NZ we had a justice system that says a person is innocent until proven guilty. I thought that when the Privy Council quashed David Bain's first conviction and ordered a re-trial that meant we were back at square one, new trial, not guilty i.e. innocent under law.
David Dougherty might have something to say about the wheels of justice and how easy it is for a jury to convict an innocent man.
