sorry can't recall where I heard this over the weekend but (poss TV3) it mentioned that the guys in question were single without wives or girlfriends and that disquiet amongst the remaining players was surfacing as they wanted their names cleared for the benefit of family etc.
The English Rugby Union has said they will name the four players involved so to clear the names of those who were not.

I saw this article this morning too and thought "stay classy England". Even if the NZRU were the most depraved organisation on the planet and set-up this whole rape allegation or if the police handled it differently what would be their motivation?
Last time I looked the teams that knocked out of the World Cup have been France, Australia, France, South Africa, and Australia why would we care about England in regard to the World Cup?
The English didn't put up much of a fight in Auckland why would we need dirty tactics to beat them? In fact we just trounced them.

I forgot to ask about this, when did it happen because the only coach I heard speak on the matter was Steve Hanson. quite early on he said (to the effect of) "players need to seriously consider the situations they put themselves in".

Nope, in another high profile rape case in the States (the details of which escape me now), women tended to believe the accused (men), while men tended to believe the accuser (woman).
