Why should we jump into this ETS like some excited crusaders when the climate debate is still very vibrant.
Debate? Bollocks.
I don't much mind whether it's Labour's ETS or a swift replacement from the Nats, but I'm buggered if the taxpaying public should carry the can for polluters.
NZ has already committed to Kyoto, so it's only a matter now of who pays our bill, and establishing an ongoing mechanism to provide incentives for less carbon emissions. The only alternative for global warming deniers is to pull out of Kyoto and kiss our export trade goodbye.
