    That guy is Camden!

    Sorry, I just finished China Mieville's Kraken
    and your painted pearly could've stepped right out of it...
    ...and what with all the Chihulys
    and Simon's edible Cthulhuies
    I think I may have been transported into the book...

    It all looks – organic, moving- but there’s clearly a human structure in its midst- being encroached upon-

    It does exactly that. doesn't it. I vaguely remember he said he walked in there for some "official " paperwork (possibly border crossing) and I am glad he still had a memory stick when his camera was stolen. I think the building carved in the rock had been there centuries, so I guess the property developers decided against continuation. ;)

    This wee bird hung out with my Dad for a while, came down and sat on his hand. The man has a way with birds.

    fenestration penetration...

    Kereru will crash whenever they want;
    young thrushes are kind of exuberantly stupid
    (and you can't do much about that)
    and kotare …sigh.
    But, they almost always survive a window crash.

    Soon the skies will be full of controlled quadrocopters,
    watch out birds, and gaffer tape crosses on your windows!
