Now it's up to you

There's a referendum coming up. And a bunch of abbreviations for you to decide between!

On November 26, we won't just be voting for the 120 or so inhabitants of the House of Representatives for the next three years, we'll also get to have our say on the type of voting system we might be using for the next 50 years or more.

And Public Address is here to help. The Referendum Tool I promised at the Great Blend is here.

Head over to it for a short introduction (it pretty simple!) and get under way. Hopefully, it will be one of many sources of information for many people as we each make our decision. I can't claim to have all the answers (although feel free to ask any questions in the comments), but at the very least it will hopefully leave you more informed. It may even help you narrow down your choices.

Look around here, there's the basic tool, but there are also explanations and information if you want to delve a little deeper. Look at the Electoral Commission's Referendum site. Listen to the debates. Engage in debate yourself!

And [short fact-check follows], despite what TV3 says, everyone gets to vote in both of the questions in the referendum, so even if you think you know what you might support, you may be looking for a second choice as well.

Finally, I'd like to thank David Hood for his thoroughly excellent work in programming this beast, as well as the numerous people who provided feedback on my many drafts. I couldn't have done it by myself, and if I could have, it wouldn't have been as good!

Now go.
