    find your level...

Your horizon is pretty damn good

I've often thought it wouldn't be hard to build a small 'spirit level' bubble set up into the top and sides of digital cameras, to compensate for the fact that photos are taken at arms length these days, rather than from the eye, which uses the body's auto gyroscope...

When I returned to Chch from my post-quake holiday in Dunedin, the view approaching the city was suitably apocalyptic! I was glad of the free glass of wine provided by Air NZ.

Hmm. I assume it is a jpeg? Silly question, but not sure this will support other formats. Also, does the post take a while to load? If so, you need to wait before doing anything else. I'm sorry it isn't behaving.

    Anyone else got anything?

  • Morgan Nichol, in reply to Ian Dalziel,

Many DSLRs (certainly Canon) have levels built in, you just need to turn it on. Don't know about little point and shoot cameras, don't see why not considering they all seem to have orientation sensors anyway.

    'spirit level'

(Cough) My latest DSLR camera has that. But watching the flight simulator distracts me from framing the shot, and then I cut off peoples heads. Uniformly but.

    ETA: Snap

I've had .png files fail before, so yeah, jpegs. But I think the trick is to write something in the box before you click to upload the file. The image comes in above what you've written.

  • Elaine,

@Jackson P We just need to know by mid - Jan what's going in the programme so still plenty of time to sort it, innit.

    Hi linger, and Jackie.

Maybe you could email me the images, and I'll see if I can find anything obvious. Email link above.

Can't have your creative endeavours thwarted.

Right. I have a feeling that will come around very quickly. We'll give it some thought, and start working on it.

Aha! It seems it doesn't like capitalised extensions. (Ian, you're welcome). I changed the extension to lower case and, voilà.

ETA: Apologies for the multiple posts. It's a geeky thing. Hate not being able to work things out.

Okay, well I'll try again. It's a photo of my dad in his racing car which I thought you might like, Jackson.
