Poor Knight’s Island Lily (Xeronema callistemon) in flower
Wow. Spectacular bloom. Did you grow it? I've heard they're difficult to grow away from their native habitat (wet clifftops!).
Heh Joe, it is indeed like a hearthbrush :-)

Beautiful!
'A Taste of Japan' - aside from drummers & origami dresses - is entirely to my taste: I deeply love a lot of Japanese cuisine- -

Okonomiyaki is one of the yummiest things ever! Different members of my family all believe they’ve perfected the recipe. :-) One version even contains semolina.

Hmmm.
Not strictly Japanese cuisine...tastes good, but you need the proper flour and sauce and there are other 'pancake' type recipes that are better....my bible is "Japanese
Cooking A simple Art"* by Shizuo Tsuji (& instruction by my friend Mame Tokunawa.)*Very simple. All you need is 3 lifetimes, and all the right - fresh! - ingredients...
I wont comment about the semolina-

Lovely pics Jos. Jealous of the nice depth of field that isn't an automatic component of point and snap camera : )

The second year it has flowered. Crammed into a corner of our front garden, where it gets little attention . Can't recall when I planted it but it could have been more than seven years ago,
Maybe they like Waikato weather as I have seen this lily in flower at the uni. -
