Between now and 21st December we would love you to go out and snap photos with whatever device you have to hand
Sounds like this is going to be the new Spring "this is what I took today" thread.

Crowds at Silo Sessions earlier in the year. Silo Cinema, Night Markets and Silo Sessions kicking off again this Friday. Weirdest thing, that photo on their page isn’t mine, but you’d be hard pressed to pick the difference.
“this is what I took today”
Possibly. But I wouldn’t mind if you took it yesterday. ;-)
The Spring thread has been a lot of fun though, so happy for the flowers and colours to keep going there, and perhaps this will go on a different track?
Or people could just have some cake and share their highlights of the year?

choose a winner, and give them a Lumix LS5 Compact Camera for Christmas
I’d have to recommend turning off the auto-stabilizer on that camera for best results!
Hey, and well done everyone who has sweated, posted, workshopped, contributed, commented and most of all - who shared an amazing array of photos.
Love it!

As it happens, I took this yesterday (and posted it to Camera+) while walking the dog around the outside of the Botanic Gardens in ChCh.

Oh yes, happy birthday! And thanks for the print! [That's enough exclamation remarks. Ed.]

Here is something I took today, that is not a flower. Common Skink (Oligosoma nigriplantare polychroma). Dunedin Botanic Gardens.
Cool.

This has been such a wonderful place/home for our photos. And me being me, of course, I feel like it's brought me a bit closer to some of you, as you share a bit more of yourselves through your photos. Speaking of which, a very special person has been in Auckland this week, and we availed ourselves of the marvellous Cornwall Park the other night. She kept apologising for stopping to take photos. But I think it was worth it.

I think I prefer the uncropped version.
That's lovely : ) Was great to catch up with you in person too. Can relate to the slow walk where there is something to snap every few paces. Hope you are getting all your other Auckland attractions in : )
