Hebe,
Gudrun and Lilith: What a staunch pair! I am only about to set foot outside now.
-
Thanks folks, I'm fortunate in not having to go far for good views! And dawn is late these days. :-)
Gudrun's the intrepid one! -

snow everywhere, and holly
The holly and the powerlines? Should be a song! :-)
Gosh, I know that yew tree (and its friend) very well! It normally stands so proud. Perhaps it will shake itself overnight?
The clouds of what look like steam I think are the snow sublimating (going from solid straight to gas) and then condensing into water droplets in the air?
There was such a lot of contrast today, such a clear bright day: hot in the direct sun, bone-chilling cold in the shadow.
Most of the snow on our roof has slithered and crashed off, but there’s plenty of soft snow lying around the garden, and I’m sure it’ll be crispy with ice again tomorrow morning.
Edit: the snowy South Island seen from space. (large file)

It was for you; a chi tree?
Thank you Hebe! :-) I love Risingholme Park and miss being there!
I wonder if the monarchs will come this winter, there are a couple of trees they particularly favour.Harriet the cat had at least one sleeping spot inside that yew. Perhaps still does! She would materialise out of it as if she’d just popped across from another dimension.
Great captures, Hebe.

Thinking that very think today! At the big tree I know the monarchs loop and play among the falling leaves.

Hebe,
Ian: shame I edited that par when I spotted the grammatical. Nice as a pome, and I do like the idea of busy Lizzies. Your band in the cactus house at the Gardens is good -- that's one of my taonga places (along with the bird gallery at the Museum with the dioramas and big stuffed things); I do hope no-one decides to "improve" it. The cactus house has has some wonderfully 60s murals of desert.
Lilith: Stunning. I find them too hard to picture usually; I will look for the big stripy grub pics. I spend a lot of time in that park.

Loving' all these meanderings.
Feeling like a frantic drift, so tell me a story.
Anyone else getting The Chills?
