As it's in the Wintergarden, is this a sequel to 'The Grok?'
That was my wife and I's first date.

Russell, I'm really sorry but last week I RSVPed for me, myself and I. I've since decided that a friend of mine would benefit greatly from such an evening, so I have RSVPed again for me + 1. Who should I see about this lapse?
-
I'm afraid you'll just have to bring 2 other people, darn it. :)
-
thanks dyan, I'm sure it's nothing we won't be able to deal with. Will we see you in a couple of weeks?
You will Jackie - looking forward to it. PASers always seem to be meeting at the Civic - that tour of the theatre last year was really wonderful.

Our scouting mission, as twere

Good, good, it's all good. I look forward to sitting in a quiet space somewhere in one of those beautiful rooms, and listening to interesting peoples. That would be you, Dyan, amongst others.

Will there be any restriction on filming and/or taking photos at this event?

None -- go for it. Perhaps just let us know when and where the results are online.
For Tweeters, the official hashtag is #ogb.
And there will be wi-fi at the venue.

If tickets are in demand, I now have a spare. I hoped to fly my son up from Wellington as he is a big Dylan H fan but not to be. So, a spare is going if you need it, Jackie--or anyone else.

I just want to remind anyone who has never been to one of these thingies, and is feeling a bit shy, that if you come to the PAS table, you will be able to get a nametag, and what's more there will be lovely smiles to welcome you. I won't describe us physically because that could get me in trouble, but if you look for a couple of grey teddy bears, a stunning redhead with lipstick to match, someone dressed all in black, someone with dreadlocks, and a smiling young man called Ian and his Mum - we'll look after you.
-
Ooohhh Jackie. That sounds so interesting and welcoming. I want to go. (But Autism NZ conference starts tomorrow so can't this time). Can we have a photo of that lovely collection?
-
Thanks Jackie. You are a champ.
The Public Address table will be down in the main Wintergarden room, and there'll be some comfy cafe seating next to it.
I've just been down to the venue, and it's already taking shape. Bronwyn from The Edge is spending this afternoon putting together trimmings for the in-house disco. My instructions were: make it fruity .
Also, you'll be able to appear in the Grayson Gilmour video being made on the night in the Taj Mahal room. The director is bringing in hair and makeup artists, so lord knows what'll happen ...

I should think so. It'll be like the social pages but Rachel Glucina won't be allowed in.

As do I. I RSVP'd for two, but the other person ended up getting their own ticket. Communication breakdown.
If anyone wants the other place let me know. Or, Russell, if you want to cancel my +1 and give it to someone else, that's fine too.

Seeing as Jackie has only mentioned one stunning person at the table, I'd like to assure others that the rest of us don't actually need paper bags over our heads. We're not that bad, really. ;)
-
I'll bring my own paper bag--although, these days, it is more properly a green shopping bag ;)
-
I knew I'd get into trouble.

:) (How's it go?) TEACHER, TEACHER over here! Should I bring a paper bag?
-
ScottY and Geoff those 2 extra tickets would be of use if they are still available. Don and Rachel will swing by the Wintergarden around 7 and I said to try their luck.
-
My spare ticket is still available. I should be there by 7 and will tell the person at the door that a Don or Rachel will ask for my second ticket.
-
You're a little gem ScottY. I will pass that on to them. Thank you.

Am I only person airing out the squee pants? My mantra for the day is "I will not be an embarrassment all over Emily Perkins and Dylan Horrocks..." :)

I don't have squee pants. But I do have a request for people (don't I always?). Please, please, please introduce yourselves. Please. There are very few people in this world who are comfortable in very large groups of people, many of whom they may not know. Most of us get a bit awkward in social situations such as will be happening tonight. Even if you may not know it yet, you are amongst friends. Make the effort, you'll be very glad you did. Here endeth the pep talk.

And just think what it's like for me!
I'm supposed to remember everyone's names ...
