  • Chris Waugh,

But a blue sky is just that much more uplifting than a hazy grey day.

Park, apartment blocks, a sky I'd like to see more of.

Signs of spring, the faintest wisps of cloud.

Cheating a bit by using a polarising filter... but the skies over Central Otago are my favourite.

And another one from the Upper Clutha basin, taken with an iPhone and therefore not using a polarising filter. Maybe it's less the blue and more the texture of the clouds on these hot hot days that I like.

I was in New Plymouth on a cloudless day, so set the camera to the fastest settings it could take a picture at to get a deliberately dark foreground and a full range of tone for the sky.

Great to see the southern seas -
and an honorary blue sky, in recognition of the quasi-satellite image of the cyclonic storm system near the coast, perhaps the less distinct anticyclonic system further out to sea too, for its blueness?
