I would be there in person supporting it for the fact that I have a PhD to hand in at the end of the month... and who knows anything about Endnote??
But this issue sails close to 'well he looked like a poof / acted like one so we beat him up.' WTF? So you have my full support.

Well, yes. Isn't it funny how slut-shaming rape culture and the culture that says fags and trannies are just asking to be be kicked to death are joined at the hip?
And, sorry guys, but challenging rape culture is no more woman's work than doing the washing up.

Just a reminder that this is Wellington in winter. Neither frilly parasols nor big hair last long in horizontal southerly rain.
(Christopher, avoid Endnote if you have managed to so far. Do a manual bibliography even if it covers 40 pages. I was having so much trouble with my Endnote - incomplete refs, duplicates and inconsistent alphabetisation - that I turned it into a word doc for manual editing in the last couple of weeks before handing in.)

+1 for no Endnote. Far more trouble than its worth. A friend of mine had it corrupt last year and lost all her references (for an essay, not a PhD, but...)

Makes some very good points, not least that SlutWalk is another protest movement proving Malcolm Gladwell wrong about digital activism. There were ten people in that initial audience. The internet let them mobilise thousands. That's how this movement spreads from country to country, and it's only the real-world logistics of getting permitting and organising march routes etc that mean it hasn't happened faster.
It's particularly poignant to me, because I have a very dear Sister in Sluttitude who lives in Toronto. This is something she and I can do "together", even though we've never met.

The poor innocent men are now apparently required to police themselves *and* their friends, while crazy females are allowed to run irresponsibly rampant. OH THE WHITE MALE PRIVILEGE

“Because you’re not allowed to rape sluts either” beats my older sign (“Tits out for the sluts”) hands down. Plus I don’t have to get my tits out in a Wellington winter. Sara is right, by the way, Emma – there are some things the world is just not ready for. #markstitsaretwoofthem

I made the same mistake. This part from the “rebuttal” tells you all you need to know about their agenda:
Sexual offenses are like all the other social pathologies we know of: they are largely caused by fatherless households. I'd like to see ONE discussion where people talk about what they - and everyone else - can do about rape prevention.
I know at least one person who volunteered with Men Stopping Rape. They did things like going into schools and having group discussions with (preteen?) boys, talking about topics such as Mindreading Doesn't Actually Work. Seems like a fantastic idea.

If you have time to adapt, I strongly recommend Mendeley Desktop. Free, backed up online, compatible with Word and Open Office, and generally excellent. It's a little touchy about accurately picking up details from pre-1980s papers (because all the PDFs are from scanned pics, I think), but that's the only real downside.

Thanks all for comments on Endnote and tips on other programs. Endnote is proving far more hassle than it is worth... will *try* export the bib to a word document - perhaps put it in excel format then export to word and remove lines... Sorry for the threadjack.
