The opportunity has arisen for an Orcon Great Blend in Wellington alongside next month's NetHui conference -- and because we're always up for a party, we've grabbed that opportunity with both hands.
Here's the plan ...
The event kicks off at 6.30pm, Wednesday July 10, at Mac's Function Centre on Taranaki Wharf.
The talking part of the evening will be a racy debate on the moot "Things were better in the old days," between teams led respectively by Public Address's Keith Ng and Graeme Edgeler. These are the teams:

Hadyn Green will bring his roller-derby commentary fu to the job of timekeeper and scrutineer for the debate.
Then, after a bit of a break, James Milne, aka Lawrence Arabia will take the stage to play his solo set. Except it won't be a solo set because at some point in proceedings he'll be joined by Mr Samuel Flynn Scott of the Phoenix Foundation.
As ever, if you want to join us, you'll need to RSVP here. And you'll probably want to be quick about it, given that there'll be a bunch of NetHui folks looking to celebrate a successful three-day conference.
You could also consider registering to attend NetHui itself. It's only $40 for the three days at Wellington Town Hall and there's heaps on. I'm MCing the Jumpstart stream of short presentations on day one, then chairing a panel called "The Song Remains the Same? What's really going on with music and the internet" on the Tuesday. That will feature Samuel Flynn Scott, Universal Music NZ chief Adam Holt and Chris Hocquard of TheAudience, DRM and Amplifier. I'll be part of a panel on media convergence on the Wednesday.
